Abstract

Audy Popy Devina “Perbedaan Ukuran Partikel Menggunakan Biji Kelor (Moringa oleifera) Dalam Penurunan Kadar COD Limbah Cair Industri Tahu Dengan Proses Koagulasi” viii Halaman Pemulaan + 76 Halaman Isi + 13 Tabel + 5 Gambar + 7 Lampiran Limbah cair industri tahu memiliki COD tinggi dilakukan pengolahan dengan bahan alami proses koagulasi metode jartest memanfaatkan Biji Kelor (Moringa oleifera). Tujuan penelitian mengetahui perbedaan ukuran partikel Biji Kelor (Moringa oleifera) dalam penurunan kadar COD limbah cair industri tahu dengan proses koagulasi. Penelitian pra eksperimen menggunakan one group pretest-postest only design. Sampel air limbah industri tahu. Variabel bebas ukuran partikel Biji Kelor (Moringa oleifera) 140 mesh dan 160 mesh. Variabel terikat COD air limbah industri tahu. Terdapat 3 kelompok variasi yakni sebelum, sesudah perlakuan ukuran partikel 140 mesh, sesudah perlakuan ukuran partikel 160 mesh, masing￾masing kelompok diulang 9 kali. Analisis data menggunakan uji anova satu arah. Hasil penelitian ukuran partikel Biji Kelor (Moringa oleifera) sebelum proses koagulasi sebesar 395 mg/L, sesudah diberi perlakuan 140 mesh sebesar 184 mg/L, 160 mesh sebesar 103 mg/L, perbedaan dalam penurunan kadar COD limbah cair industri tahu yang paling signifikan yaitu menggunakan ukuran partikel 160 mesh sebesar 103 mg/L. Hasil uji anova satu arah ada perbedaan ukuran partikel Biji Kelor (Moringa oleifera) ukuran partikel 140 mesh dan 160 mesh dalam menurunkan COD. Saran untuk peneliti selanjutnya dengan penambahan ukuran mesh untuk mendapatkan hasil penurunan kadar COD yang lebih efektif, dengan menambah dosis koagulan untuk memperoleh penurunan kadar COD yang lebih efektif, penambahan variabel yang akan digunakan seperti variasi waktu pengendapan. The purpose of the study was to determine the difference in the particle size of Moringa Seed (Moringa oleifera) in reducing COD levels of industrial liquid waste by coagulation process. Pre-experimental research uses one group pretest-postest only design. Industrial wastewater samples tofu. The free variable particle size of Moringa Seed (Moringa oleifera) is 140 mesh and 160 mesh. Variable bound COD of industrial wastewater tofu. There were 3 groups of variations, namely before, after the particle size treatment of 140 mesh, after the particle size treatment of 160 mesh, each group was repeated 9 times. Data analysis uses a one-way anova test. The results of the study on the particle size of Moringa Seed (Moringa oleifera) before the coagulation process was 395 mg/L, after being treated with 140 mesh of 184 mg/L, 160 mesh of 103 mg/L, the most significant difference in the reduction of COD levels of tofu industrial liquid waste was using a particle size of 160 mesh of 103 mg/L. The results of the one-way anova test showed a difference in the particle size of Moringa Seed (Moringa oleifera) particle size of 140 mesh and 160 mesh in reducing COD. Suggestions for future researchers by increasing the mesh size to obtain a more effective COD level reduction result, by increasing the dose of coagulant to obtain a more effective COD level reduction adding variables to be used, such as variations in settling time.
