Abstract
Karies gigi menjadi salah satu permasalahan kesehatan gigi dan mulut yang serius pada anak usia sekolah, terutama anak sekolah dasar (SD). Gigi molar satu permanen merupakan gigi yang pertama kali erupsi pada umur sekitar 6-7 tahun setelah pertumbuhan dan perkembangan rahang sudah cukup memberi tempat, sehingga menjadi gigi yang paling berisiko terkena karies. Masalah dalam penelitian ini rendahnya prevalensi bebas karies gigi molar satu permanen siswa-siswi SDN Dayurejo II. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan orang tua tentang karies gigi molar satu permanen. Jenis penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 33 orang. Metode Pengumpulan data pengetahuan orang tua tentang karies molar satu diukur dengan menggunakan kuesioner dengan teknik analisa data yaitu menghitung rata-rata jawaban berdasarkan skoring. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa pengetahuan orang tua tentang gigi molar satu permanen sebesar 52,5% termasuk dalam kategori kurang, pengetahuan orang tua tentang lubang pada gigi molar satu permanen sebesar 62,5% termasuk dalam kategori sedang, pengetahuan orang tua tentang akibat tidak memelihara gigi molar satu permanen sebesar 64,5% termasuk kategori sedang dan pengetahuan orang tua tentang cara memelihara kesehatan gigi molar satu permanen sebesar 70,7% termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengetahuan orang tua tentang gigi molar satu permanen termasuk dalam kategori sedang.
