Abstract
Berdasarka hasil survey awal yang dilakukan pada tanggal 26 November 2014 pada orang tua siswa kelas V dan VI SDLB A YPAB Surabaya diperoleh hasil OHI-S rata-rata 3,12 yang masuk dalam kategori buruk, masalah yang terdapat pada penelitian ini adalah rendahnya status kebersihan gigi dan mulut pada siswa tunanetra kelas V dan VI SDLB A YPAB Surabaya. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan orang tua tentang kebersihan gigi dan mulut pada siswa tunanetra kelas V dan VI SDLB A YPAB Surabaya tahun 2015. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang dilakukan pada responden sebanyak 25 orang tua siswa tunanetra. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar kuesioner. Prosedur pengumpulan data dengan membagikan lembar kuesioner kepada orang tua siswa tunanetra lalu teknik analisis yang digunakan dengan menghitung seluruh jawaban yang diperoleh dari responden di hitung rata-ratanya kemudian dipresentase dan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengetahuan orang tua siswa kelas V dan VI SDLB A YPAB Surabaya tentang kebersihan gigi dan mulut termasuk dalam kategori kurang
