Abstract
ABSTRAK Lalat memiliki peran penting dalam permasalahan kesehatan masyarakat. minimnya tingkat wawasan publik atas sanitasi serta hygiene, mengakibatkan lalat mempunyai pengaruh yang negatif untuk kesehatan masyarakat secara meluas baik dalam aspek estetika hingga penyebaran penyakit.Tujuan penelitian ini mengamati daya tolak serbuk daun kemangi (Ocimum basilicum) atau daun kemangi pada bentuk lilin aromatik terhadap penolakan jumlah lalat rumah (Musca domestika). Jenis penelitian ini penelitian Eksperimen Murni dengan pendekatan. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Postest-Only Control Design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah lalat rumah sebanyak 200 lalat rumah. Sampel sebanyak 480 ekor lalat rumah. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara probability sampling. Analisis data yang digunakan ialah uji anova satu arah. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa hasil konsentrasi 30% didapatkan ratarata sebanyak 50%. Konsentrasi 40% didapatkan rata-rata sebanyak 70%. Konsentrasi 50% didapatkan rata-rata sebanyak 75%. Daun kemangi mengandung minyak atsiri dengan bahan aktif tanin dan flavonoid yang mempunyai potensi sebagai daya tolak lalat rumah (Musca domestica). Dapat dilakukan penelitian daya tolak lalat dengan waktu yang berbeda – beda dan penambahan variasi untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan penolakan jumlah lalat rumah (Musca domestica).
