Abstract

ABSTRAK Industri penyamakan kulit merupakan industri yang mengolah dari kulit mentah menjadi kulit jadi yang proses pengerjaannya menggunakan air dengan kapasitas besar. Hasil samping proses penyamakan kulit tersebut salah satunya berupa limbah krom (Cr). Limbah krom hasil dari proses penyamakan kulit belum memenuhi baku mutu berdasarkan Peraturan Gubernur Jatim No 52 Tahun 2014 tentang tentang perubahan atas Pergub Jatim No 72 Tahun 2013 tentang Baku Mutu Air Limbah Bagi Industri dan/atau Kegiatan Usaha Lainnya. Pengolahan limbah tidak hanya dilakukan secara kimia dan fisik, dapat dilakukan dengan cara lain seperti fitoremediasi. Fitoremediasi adalah upaya penggunaan tanaman untuk dekontaminasi limbah. Tanaman yang dapat digunakan untuk meremediasi limbah adalah eceng gondok (Eichhornia crassipes). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peneurunan kadar krom (Cr) dalam limbah penyamakan kulit setelah dilakukan fitoremediasi eceng gondok (Eichhornia crassipes). Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen research atau penelitian eksperimen semu. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan fitoremediasi eceng gondok (Eichhornia crassipes) terhadap penurunan kadar krom (Cr). Sedangkan untuk penelitian menggunakan pretest posttest non equivalent yaitu desain yang memiliki pretest serta posttest pada kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukan nilai kadar krom sebelum dilakukan fitoremedisi dengan eceng gondok (Eichhornia crassipes) sebesar 2,2 mg/L, untuk kontrol hasilnya sebesar 1,8 mg/L. Sedangkan untuk hasil kadar krom sesudah fitoremediasi dengan 200 gram eceng gondok yang paling tinggi sebesar 0,04 sehingga besar penurunannya 2,16 atau 98,18%. Untuk hasil kadar krom (Cr) sesudah fitoremediasi dengan 300 gram eceng gondok yang paling tinggi sebesar 0,04 sehingga penurunanya sebesar 2,16 atau 98,18%. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kadar krom (Cr) mengalami penurunan setelah dilakukan fitoremediasi dengan eceng gondok (Eichhornia crassipes). Sesuai dengan hasil uji oneway anova bahwa p<0,05 yang artinya tidak homogen. Sehingga asumsi anova tidak terpenuhi. Perlu penambahan jumlah eceng gondok untuk fitoremediasi. One of the by-products of the tanning process is chrome (Cr) waste. Chrome waste resulting from the tanning process has not met the quality standards based on East Java Governor Regulation No. 52 of 2014 concerning amendments to East Java Governor Regulation No. 72 of 2013 concerning Wastewater Quality Standards for Industry and/or Other Business Activities. Waste treatment is not only done chemically and physically, it can be done in other ways such as phytoremediation. Phytoremediation is an attempt to use plants for waste decontamination. A plant that can be used to remediate waste is hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes). The purpose of this study was to determine the decrease in chrome (Cr) levels in tanning waste after phytoremediation of hyacinths (Eichhornia crassipes). This type of research is quasi-experimental research or pseudo-experimental research. This study was conducted to determine the effect of hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) phytoremediation treatment on reducing chrome (Cr) levels. As for the study using pretest posttest non equivalent, which is a design that has a pretest and posttest in the experimental group and control group. The results showed the value of chrome levels before phytoremedition with hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) of 2.2 mg / L, for control the results were 1.8 mg / L. As for the results of chrome levels after phytoremediation with 200 grams of water hyacinth the highest of 0.04 so that the magnitude of the decrease was 2.16 or 98.18%. For the results of chrome (Cr) levels after phytoremediation with 300 grams of hyacinth, the highest was 0.04 so that the decrease was 2.16 or 98.18%. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that chrome (Cr) levels decreased after phytoremediation with hyacinths (Eichhornia crassipes). In accordance with the results of the oneway anova test that p<0.05 which means it is not homogeneous. So the assumption of anova is not fulfilled.
