Abstract

ABSTRAK Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL) harus dikelola dengan baik supaya dapat bekerja secara optimum sehingga efluent yang dihasilkan sesuai dengan baku mutu yang ditetapkan dan tidak mengganggu kesehatan masyarakat sekitar. Hasil pemeriksaan di Laboratorium Kesehatan Daerah Ponorogo tanggal 18 Januari 2023 sampel efluent IPAL Puskesmas Kawedanan menyatakan bahwa kadar COD pada efluent sebesar 297 mg/l. Proses pengolahan secara biologi dapat menggunakan mikroorganisme dan fitoremediasi tanaman air yang sekarang sudah banyak digunakan untuk menurunkan berbagai kadar logam beracun ataupun zat organik. Tanaman air ini dinilai cukup mudah untuk didapatkan serta efektif untuk menyerap berbagai logam beracun dan zat organik ke dalam jaringan tanaman. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian quassi eksperimen yaitu penelitian yang mengacu pada perlakuan terhadap penurunan kadar COD air limbah puskesmas sebelum dan sesudah diberi perlakuan. Jenis penelitian ini bersifat eksperimen atau uji coba dengan metode fitoremidiasi yaitu tanaman enceng gondok (Eichhornia crassipes). Hasil rata rata penurunan kadar COD secara keseluruhan selama perlakuan yaitu 62 mg/l. Efektivitas pemanfaatan tanaman eceng gondok secara keseluruhan dalam menurunkan kadar COD pada limbah effluent ipal puskesmas yaitu 79 %. The results of an examination at the Ponorogo Regional Health Laboratory on January 18 2023 regarding the IPAL effluent of the Kawedanan Public Health Center stated that the COD level at the outlet was 297 mg/l. This type of research is a quassi experimental research study, namely research that refers to the treatment of reducing COD levels in puskesmas waste water before and after being treated. This type of research is an experiment or trial using the phytoremediation method, namely water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes). The overall average reduction in COD levels during treatment was 62 mg/l. The overall effectiveness of water hyacinth utilization in reducing COD levels in the IPAL effluent at the puskesmas is 79%.
