Abstract
Students living in boarding schools are susceptible to the transmission of different communicable diseases or illnesses. It is avoidable for residents of boarding schools to exchange clothes, towels, sarongs, pillows, bolsters, and mattresses. The activity makes microorganisms easily from one to another students, making them vulnerable to skin problems, such as scabies. The purpose of this study is to identify efforts to prevent scabies among students sharing school dorms at At-Tanwir Islamic Boarding School Bojonegoro (Ponpes At-Tanwir Bojonegoro). The research design is descriptive design. The population of the study is 200 students and 66 students were randomly taken as the samples of the study. The variable of the study is the effort to prevent scabies. The data were collected using questionnaires and descriptively analyzed. The results showed that 94% of the students made sufficient effort to prevent scabies transmission. It is concluded that the students staying at the boarding school are aware of the risk of communicable disease transmission by avoiding the exchanging of personal belongings.
