Abstract
Karies gigi masih menjadi masalah utama di dalam rongga mulut, terutama karies gigi molar satu permenen, pada kelompok usia 12 tahun ditemukan masalah tingginya prevalensi karies gigi molar satu permanen pada siswa Kelas IVA di SDN Kedungdoro V/310 Kota Surabaya dengan prevalensi 74% pada bulan Desember tahun 2018. Tujuan penelitian: Diketahuinya pengetahuan dan peran orang tua dalam pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi molar satu permanen siswa Kelas IV SDN Kedungdoro V/310 Surabaya tahun 2019. Metode: Jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan sasaran penelitian orang tua siswa Kelas IV SDN Kedungdoro V/310 Surabaya menggunakan instrumen kuesioner. Analisa data menggunakan mean. Hasil penelitian: pengetahuan pertumbuhan, anatomi fisiologi, dan fungsi gigi molar satu permanen , cara pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi molar satu permanen, serta akibat jika tidak memelihara kesehatan gigi molar satu permanen termasuk dalam kategori cukup, dan peran orang tua sebagai pengasuh dan pengawas termasuk dalam kategori cukup, sementara peran orang tua sebagai pendidik dan pendorong termasuk dalam kategori baik. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengetahuan dan peran orang tua siswa SDN Kedungdoro V/310 Surabaya termasuk dalam kategori cukup
