Abstract

Abstrak— Flora and fauna as well as minerals with medicinal properties must be developed and disseminated so that they can be maximally utilized in public health efforts. Especially for medicinal plants, the distribution can be done through TOGA (family medicinal plants). For this reason, efforts should be made to improve maternal health care through the formation of toga awareness groups in the Surabaya City Health Office. This activity was carried out in the Surabaya City Health Office area, namely in 2 places: in the Mojo and Mulyorejo Health Center areas. The implementation time starts from February to September 2019. Methods of activity include: counseling in increasing community knowledge about TOGA, forming TOGA awareness groups, planting TOGA, and monitoring evaluation. The targets of this community service activity are residents, especially mothers, whether they have babies or not, teenagers, cadres, community leaders and village officials (Head of Kelurahan, RT, RW), and Head of Puskesmas, as well as 30 midwives. The results of community service activities: an increase in respondents' knowledge about TOGA from an average score of 76 to 89, an increase in knowledge about public knowledge about Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) which is especially useful for maternal health from an average value of 78 to 90, the formation of 5 groups of SADAR TOGA named the red ginger group, the moringa group, the katuk group, the bidara group, and the observer group, the evaluation of 1 TOGA grew well by 100%, the evaluation of 2 TOGA grew well by 99%. Suggestion; There is a need for continuous monitoring to maintain community awareness, especially cadres about understanding and practice about TOGA which can be useful for preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative activities so that maternal health can continue to be maximized.
