Abstract
Menyikat gigi merupakan kebiasaan yang dilakukan untuk membersihkan gigi secara terus-menerus. Kebiasaan menyikat gigi yang baik merupakan cara yang efektif untuk mencegah karies gigi. Menyikat gigi dapat menghilangkan plak dan bakteri yang menempel pada gigi sehingga menyebabkan karies gigi. Masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu tingginya angka karies gigi pada siswa kelas XI SMA Widya Darma Surabaya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan cara menyikat gigi dengan karies gigi berdasarkan penelitian yang sudah ada. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah simple random sampling, dengan populasi 69 siswa kelas XI. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi dan lembar pemeriksaan. Teknik analisa data yang digunakan yaitu uji Chi Square. Hasil ada hubungan yang signifikan antara cara menyikat gigi dengan karies gigi.
