Abstract
Sebagian besar siswa kelas IV dan V SD Negeri 05 Besole, Kecamatan Besuki, Kabupaten Tulungagung, yaitu sebanyak 31 anak (61%) dari 51 anak mempunyai masalah gigi dan mulut, yang sebagian besar disebabkan oleh gigi berlubang dan karang gigi. Oleh karena itu peneliti merasa tertarik untuk melakukan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif, yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan tentang kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada siswa kelas IV dan V SD Negeri 05 Besole,yang terdiri dari faktor- faktor: ciri-ciri gigi yang sehat, masalah gigi dan mulut, penyebab kerusakan gigi dan mulut, akibat kerusakangigi dan mulut, dan juga perawatan gigi dan mulut yang benar. Teknik pengambilan sample adalah dengan Purposive Sampling kepada seluruh siswa kelas IV dan V, sebanyak 51 anak. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Selanjutnya hasil penelitian dianalisis dalam bentuk persentase dan dikategorikan ke dalam lima skala, yaitu sangat tinggi, tinggi, sedang, rendah, dan sangat rendah. Dari hasilpenelitian yang telahdilakukan,dalam kategori sangat tinggi ada 3 anak (6%), dalam kategori tinggi ada 13 anak(25%), dalam kategori sedang ada 15 anak (29%), dalam kategorirendah ada 17 anak (33%), dan dalam kategori sangat rendah ada 3 anak (6%). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat diketahui bahwa tingkat pengetahuan tentang kesehatan gigi dan mulut siswa Kelas IV dan V SD Negeri 05 Besole dalam kategori rendah.
