Abstract

Makanan kariogenik merupakan makanan yang dapat menyebabkan karies gigi. Pada usia anak-anak sekolah dasar makanan kariogenik ini paling banyak diminati, sehingga banyak anak-anak sekolah dasar yang mengalami karies. Daridata hasil pemeriksaan di dapat rata-rata def-t sebesar 4,8. Jika dibandingkan dengan standar WHO nilai ini termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah tingginya nilai rata-rata def-t pada siswa kelas III SDN Kalirungkut II Srabaya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan jumlah sasaran 30 siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran tentang makanan kariogenik pada siswa kelas III SDN Kalirungkut II Surabaya 2011, yang meliputi pengetahuan siswa tentang jenis makanan kariogenik, perilaku siswa tentang frekuensi konsumsi makanan kariogenik, serta pengetahuan siswa tentang akibat dari konsumsi makanan kariogenik. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengetahuan tentang makanan kariogenik termasuk dalam kategori sedang
