Abstract

Kesehatan gigi merupakan indikator kesehatan pada umumnya, kesehatan gigi bagian dari kesehatan tubuh secara keseluruhan penting untuk diperhatikan dan memerlukan penanganan segera serta dapat mempengaruhi kondisi kesehatan tubuh seseorang. Kesehatan gigi yang tidak dijaga dengan baik dapat menimbulkan penyakit, seperti karies gigi. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesehatan gigi pada populasi perokok usia 45-50 tahun di jalan Bronggalan Sawah RT 03 RW 09 kelurahan Pacar Kembang Surabaya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif. Tehnik sample yang digunakan adalah Total sampling dengan 20 responden. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh oleh peneliti menunjukan bahwa tingkat kesehatan gigi pada perokok usia 45-50 tahun termasuk tingkat Berat yaitu 14 orang memiliki masalah kesehatan gigi sedang (70%). Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat memberi masukan atau informasi bagi perokok tentang pengaruh merokok terhadap kesehatan gigi, sehingga dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan untuk mengurangi ataupun menghentikan kebiasaan merokok.
