Abstract
Berdasarkan hasil survey pendahuluan yang dilakukan pada tanggal 16 Desember 2009, diperoleh hasil OHI-S rata-rata 3,19 termasuk kategori jelek, masalah yang terdapat dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya status OHI-S pada siswa SDn Klampis Ngasem I kelas V Pra-klasikal Surabaya. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahua gambaran pengetahuan tentang pemeliharaan kebersihan gigi dan mulut pada siswa SDN Klampis Ngasem I kelas V Pra-klasikal Surabaya Tahun 2010. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang dilakukan pada responden sebanyak 18 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu menggunakan kuisioner. Dari hasil penelitian yang didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa pengetahuan tentang cara menyikat gigi termasuk buruk, pengetahuan tentang waktu menyikat gigi kriteria buruk, pengetahuan tentang frekuensi menyikat gigi kriteria sedang, dan pengetahuan tentang pola makan termasuk kriteria sedang
