Abstract
Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya status kebersihan gigi dan mulut siswa kelas IV SDN Kalianget Timur VIII Sumenep sebesar 3,1 dengan kategori jelek. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah diketahuinya gambaran pengetahuan siswa kelas IV SDN Kalianget Timur VIII Sumenep tentang pemeliharaan kebersihan gigi dan mulut tahun 2010. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan sasaran penelitian semua siswa kelas IV sebanyak 25 siswa dengan instrument penelitian lembar kuesioner dengan analisis mean (nilai rata-rata) yang disajikan dalam bentuk tabel. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa pengetahuan siswa tentang cara menyikat gigi yang baik dan benar tergolong jelek, sedangkan frekuensi dan waktu menyikat gigi serta makanan yang berpengaruh terhadap kebersihan gigi dan mulut tergolong sedang
