Abstract
Kesehatan gigi merupakan bagian dari kesehatan secara keseluruhan. Ibu hamil merupakan salah satu kelompok rentan terserang penyakit gigi dan mulut. Status kesehatan gigi ibu hamil dapat diketahui melalui data pemeriksaan gigi ibu hamil di Posyandu Melati I dan Melati II Klampis Semalang Surabaya yang dilakukan pada tanggal 10 Oktober 2011 dan didapat nilai rata-rata DMF-T 6,19. Jika dibandingkan dengan standar indikator DMF-T WHO nilai ini termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya status kesehatan gigi dan mulut ibu hamil di Posyandu Melati I dan Melati II Klampis Semalang Surabaya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan jumlah sasaran 21 orang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan ibu hamil tentang kesehatan gigi dan mulut di Posyandu Melati I dan Melati II Klampis Semalang Surabaya, yang meliputi pengetahuan ibu hamil tentang karies gigi (gigi berlubang), pengetahuan ibu hamil tentang makanan yang berpengaruh pada kesehatan gigi, pengetahuan ibu hamil tentang cara menyikat gigi yang baik dan benar, serta pengetahuan ibu hamil tentang waktu menyikat gigi yang tepat. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengetahuan ibu hamil tentang kesehatan gigi selama kehamilan termasuk dalam kriteria kurang
