Abstract
Pada bulan November tahun 2012 telah dilakukan pemeriksaan kebersihan gigi pada siswa kelas VI SDN Sutorejo 1-240 Surabaya. Dari pemeriksaan didapatkan hasil OHIS dengan nilai 3,27 dalam kategori buruk, sedangkan menurut WHO untuk nilai OHIS adalah : 0-1,2 (kategori baik), 1,3-3,0 (kategori sedang), 3,1-6,0 (kategori buruk). Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya status kebersihan gigi dan mulut siswa SDN Sutorejo 1-240 Surabaya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah tingkat pengetahuan dalam menyikat gigi pada siswa kelas VI SDN Sutorejo 1-240 Surabaya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian secara deskriptif dengan jumlah sasaran 30 siswa. Instrument yang digunakan adalah lembar kuisioner dengan waktu penelitian dimulai bulan November 2012 sampai juni 2013. Prosedur pengumpulan data dengan membagikan lembar kuisioner langsung kepada siswa lalu dikumpulkan kembali untuk dibuat tabel dan diprosentasekan untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan siswa tentang cara menyikat gigi, frekuensi dan waktu menyikat gigi, bentuk sikat gigi, dan akibat dari menyikat gigi yang salah.
