Abstract
Kebersihan gigi seseorang dapat dilihat dari perilaku siswa dalam menjaga kebersihan gigi dan mulutnya. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku siswa dalm menjaga kebersihan gigi dan mulut yaitu cara menyikat gigi. Berdasrkan hasil pemeriksaan yang telah dilakukan pada siswa tunanetra kelas V dan VI SDLB A YPAB Surabaya tahun 2015 diperoleh nilai OHI-S yaitu 3,12 dengan kategori buruk. Sehingga masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah cara menyikat gigi pada siswa tunanetra kelas V dan VI SDLB A YPAB Surabaya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis efektifitas cara menyikat gigi sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan menggunakan metode ceramah dan simulasi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pra eksperimen dengan jumlah sasaran kelompok 1 dan kelompok 2. Metode pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan lembar penilaian cara menyikat gigi. Teknik analisa data yang digunakan adalah Uji Wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan adanya perbedaan efektifitas cara menyikat gigi sesudah penyuluhan dengan menggunakan metode simulasi dan ceramah pada siswa kelas V dan VI SDLB A YPAB Surabaya
