Abstract
Hasil survey pendahuluan yang dilakukan tanggal 17 Desember 2014 pada siswa kelas V SDN Klampis Ngasem III Surabaya, diperoleh hasil 86% siswa mengalami karies pada gigi molar pertama permanen. Masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu banyaknya siswa SDN Klampis Ngasem III Surabaya mengalami karies pada gigi molar pertama permanen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan pola asuh orang tua dengan kejadian karies gigi molar pertama permanen pada siswa SDN Klampis Ngasem III Surabaya. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik cross sectional dimana variabel karies molar pertama permanen dan pola asuh orang tua diteliti sekaligus pada periode waktu yang sama. Jumlah populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu 255 siswa, teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu proportionate random sampling, besar sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini yaitu 108 siswa . Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan untuk variabel karies gigi molar pertama permaen yaitu lembar observasi dan untuk variabel pola asuh orang tua yaitu lembar kuesioner. Teknis analisis data menggunakan uji chi-square. Hasil penelitian yaitu tidak ada hubungan pola asuh orang tua dengan kejadian karies gigi molar pertama permanen pada siswa SDN Klampis Ngasem III Surabaya tahun 2015.
