Abstract

Introduction: Adolescents are the next generation who usually do not have a healthy lifestyle. The results of Riskesdas in 2018 compared to 2013, explained that the proportion of drinking alcohol in the population aged> 10 years was 3.3% an increase of 0.3%. The proportion of excessive alcoholic drinking also experiences to be 0.8%. Data on the proportion of physical activity that lacked an increase from 26.1% to 33.5% including in East Java Province has increased although it was still below the national figure. The purposed of this studied is to develop a model of self-care regulation (RPD) to prevent hypertension in adolescents. Methods: This study consisted of two stages, the first stage using analytic observational methods. The second phase used explanatory research that aims to describe the self-care regulation model (RPD) to prevented hypertension in adolescent groups. The first stage of the researched design used a cross sectional design. The study population at this stage was junior high school students in class 2 in Surabaya. The sample size used the rule of the thumb with 210 respondents. Multistage sampling type sampling technique. This first phase of the research uses 2 (two) stages of the sampling process. The first stage, simple random sampling, for the second stage is determined by probability sampling techniques. The number of samples is 100 students. Results: The self-care regulation model (RPD) is composed of push factors / external factors. Personal factors, psychological factors and internal factors, individual perceptions, perceived threats, perceived benefits and perceived obstacles do not affect self-care regulation. Discussion: Formation of Anti-Hypertension Health Cadres in schools should be sustainable. Teenagers who have been briefed on preventing hypertension can provide health education to their families. The model found can be applied to other aggregates, so that the model can be developed for the prevention of hypertension in various settings.
