Abstract
Nabella Ardhya Jawawi EFEKTIFITAS PENURUNAN KADAR BOD DAN TSS PADA PENGOLAHAN LIMBAH PABRIK TAHU PAK DARSO DENGAN METODE FILTRASI DAN VARIASI WAKTU AERASI Vi + 86 Halaman + 15 Tabel + 10 Lampiran Kandungan yang ada dalam limbah pabrik tahu diantaranya adalah BOD dan TSS dimana, BOD adalah ukuran kasar jumlah biokimia yang dapat terbiodegradasi dalam air. Ini didefinisikan sebagai jumlah oksigen yang dibutuhkan oleh proses aerobik mikroorganisme untuk mengoksidasi menjadi bahan anorganik. BOD dapat diturunkan dengan menggunakan Mechanical Aerator atau dengan Diffused Air System. Sedangkan Padatan tersuspensi (TSS) adalah jumlah total partikel padat yang tersuspensi dalam larutan cair atau berair. TSS dapat diturunkan dengan cara filtrasi, pengendapan, atau dengan memberikan bahan koagulan seperti tawas ke dalam limbah cair tersebut. Mengetahui Efektifitas Penurunan Kadar BOD dan TSS Pada Pengolahan Limbah Pabrik Tahu Pak Darso dengan Metode Filtrasi dan Variasi Waktu Aerasi 5 jam, 7 jam, 9 jam. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan merupakan penelitian Deskriptif, populasi pada penelitian ini seluruh air limbah tahu yang berasal dari proses pengolahan tahu Pak Darso. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 20 sampel dengan 5 replikasi di setiap perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penurunan kadar BOD 5 jam 10,55%, 7 jam 20,37%, 9 jam 36,55%. Dan kadar TSS 5 jam 9,58%, 7 jam 20,85%, 9 jam 35,76%. Perbedaan yang terjadi pada penurunan kadar BOD dan TSS ini terjadi dikarenakan perbedaan lama waktu aerasi yang dilakukan dimana semakin lama waktu aerasi maka penurunan kadar BOD dan TSS semakin besar. Kadar BOD dan TSS masih belum memenuhi baku mutu akan tetapi, sudah mengalami penurunan. Penurunan tertinggi terjadi pada perlakuan lama waktu aerasi selama 9 jam dan filtrasi dengan penurunan BOD sebesar 36,55% dan TSS sebesar 35,76%. Penelitian perlu dilanjutkan dengan dilakukan penambahan waktu aerasi dan juga mengenai ketebalan media filtrasi. It is defined as the amount of oxygen required by aerobic processes of microorganisms to oxidize it to inorganic materials. BOD can be reduced by using a Mechanical Aerator or with a Diffused Air System. Meanwhile, suspended solids (TSS) is the total number of solid particles suspended in a liquid or aqueous solution. TSS can be reduced by filtration, precipitation, or by adding coagulants such as alum to the liquid waste. Knowing the Effectiveness of Reducing BOD and TSS Levels in the Processing of Pak Darso Tofu Factory Waste using the Filtration Method and Varying Aeration Time of 5 hours, 7 hours, 9 hours. The type of research used is descriptive research, the population in this research is all tofu wastewater that comes from Pak Darso's tofu processing process. The samples used were 20 samples with 5 replications in each treatment. The results showed a decrease in BOD levels at 5 hours 10.55%, 7 hours 20.37%, 9 hours 36.55%. And the TSS level at 5 hours was 9.58%, 7 hours 20.85%, 9 hours 35.76%. The differences that occur in decreasing BOD and TSS levels occur due to differences in the length of time aeration is carried out, where the longer the aeration time, the greater the decrease in BOD and TSS levels. BOD and TSS levels still do not meet quality standards, however, they have decreased. The highest decrease occurred in the long aeration treatment of 9 hours and filtration with a decrease BOD of 36,55% and the TSS of 35.76%. Research needs to be continued by increasing the aeration time and also regarding the thickness of the filtration media.
